Most Effective Simple Exercises to Try at Your Desk

The health of your company and the well-being of its members are two things that go hand in hand. So here are our top five tips for how to stay healthy at your company:

1.       Abs:

You can strengthen your core by pulling in your knees towards your chest. Start sitting on the edge of a chair and lean back at about 45 degrees or as much as you can comfortably do so; maintain some support from the backrest. Bend your knees to draw them up towards your stomach for 10 to 15 repetitions!

2.       Legs:

It's important that you work out in some way every day. You can try standing on your desk or couch and pointing one leg over so that it aims towards your head. Think of the other as a pencil being held to the floor and aim to be light when you lift yourself up off the surface while keeping your balance! Switch legs after 15 repetitions - aim for at least 5 sets each day!

3.       Arms:

No weights? No problem! Grab a stapler and starting at the thighs, curl your arm upward towards the chest — just like a regular curl. You can do this exercise seated or standing. Try this for 15 reps then switch arms.

4.       Back:

Imagine there is a compass in your back. Your goal is to break the compass in half. To do so, squeeze your shoulder blades together to create a strong back and hold this position for 15 seconds. Repeat three times.

5.       Full Body:

Last but not least, focus on good posture! Maintaining perfect posture throughout the day can engage your core and prevent injury, aches and pains. Align your arms with your body, position you monitor to encourage a natural downward gaze and sit with your chair unlocked so as to allow for strides from side to side throughout the day.
